Be Smart Tutoring: A Homeschool Hybrid Program That Puts Students First

Looking for an academic program that blends the best of homeschooling and classroom learning? At Be Smart Tutoring, our homeschool hybrid program offers personalized instruction, small-group collaboration, and the supports families need for confident, joyful learning. Located in St. Petersburg and serving the Town ’n’ Country area, we combine experienced teachers, research-based reading instruction, and a hands-on, arts-integrated curriculum to help students PreK–6 thrive.
Why families choose Be Smart
- Personalized, multi‑age learning — Students are grouped by skill level, not strictly by grade, so each child receives instruction that matches their needs and moves at their pace.
- Low student‑to‑teacher ratios — Small groups and embedded tutoring mean more individual attention and faster progress.
- Experienced, certified staff — Our team includes certified classroom teachers and a reading specialist with decades of experience in public, private, and homeschool settings.
- Specialized supports — We provide targeted interventions for students with dyslexia, ADHD, ASD, and other learning differences, plus progress monitoring (CORE Phonics, MAP when appropriate) and clear parent communication.
- Balanced, engaging days — Each day features a 90‑minute ELA block, 60‑minute math block, science, social studies (including units on ancient cultures), music, art, yoga, and outdoor play. We emphasize hands‑on, low‑tech learning that develops the whole child.
- Easy family partnership — We support parents with paperwork, homeschool portfolio maintenance, evaluations, and clear records so transitions to traditional school or continued homeschooling are smooth.
What students learn (and love)
- Strong literacy foundations — Systematic phonics, fluency work, comprehension strategies, and individualized reading plans guided by our reading specialist.
- Math confidence — Conceptual instruction and fact fluency practices that build number sense and problem‑solving skills.
- Rich content knowledge — Units on earth science, USA geography and government, Victorian literature studies, and mythology that spark curiosity and critical thinking.
- Creative expression — Daily art and fiber‑arts projects, music, and maker activities that connect learning to self‑expression.
- Social and emotional growth — Multi‑age groupings foster leadership, empathy, and cooperative learning in a safe, inclusive environment.
How it works
- Schedule: 2–3 days per week (Monday–Wednesday) from 9:30 AM–2:30 PM, following a traditional school‑year calendar.
